Historic Plainfield farm to be protected under program
PLAINFIELD — An historic 59-acre Plainfield fruit and vegetable farm known for its heirloom apples is being protected under Connecticut’s Farmland Preservation Program.Department of Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky said the 18th Century Purity Farm at the Hall Homestead is the 312th farm to be protected under the program. So far, the initiative has protected more than 40,000 acres statewide from development, preserving the property for agricultural production.
