Hartford Police To Begin Carrying Narcan

(CBS Connecticut) — Officials today announced that Hartford police officers will soon begin carrying the anti-overdose drug Narcan.
Officers are expected to begin carrying the drug, also known by its generic name naloxone, in the coming weeks.
Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley says there used to be more homicides than overdoses in the city — But now there are three times as many overdoses as killings.  Foley says giving officers the drug will help save lives.
