Garbage truck fire closes part of Route 9 northbound in Berlin

HARTFORD – Police say a garbage truck caught fire on Route 9 around 12:46 P.M. Video sent to FOX 61 shows the truck burning and suddenly exploding. Route 9 northbound was closed between exits 23 and 24 until the truck was towed away. Route 9 is back open. Injuries are unknown as of this time.
