Engineering Report: ‘Construction Flaws’ Responsible For Trinity Deck Collapse

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – An independent review of the deck collapse at an off-campus house owned by Trinity College in Hartford finds “construction flaws in some of the deck framing” was the primary cause of the collapse.
A party was occurring at the the home at 1713-1715 Broad Street on September 10, when the deck gave way, injuring 32 Trinity students. First-responders said at the time it was a miracle that no one was killed in the accident.
