Driver arrested after Naugatuck officer struck by car

NAUGATUCK – An officer is recovering from minor injuries and a woman was taken into custody after police say she ran over the policeman’s foot.
Friday night around 7 p.m. a driver stopped a patrol officer and reported an erratic driver he was following. The motorist said he knew the driver of the vehicle and said she was possibly impaired by drugs and or alcohol and was concerned that she was going to injure someone, according to police.
