Dow Jones plunges 1,000 points in early trading

NEW YORK — As soon as the bell sounded, investors began selling. The Dow dropped more than 1,000 points in the first four minutes of the trading day Monday.
The U.S. markets plunged following a big drop in Chinese stocks.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell more than 1,000 points in early trading.
