Data Suggests School Absenteeism Down
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – New state data show chronic absenteeism at Connecticut’s schools has declined.
The number of chronically absent students in the state dropped from a high of 11.5 percent in the 2012-13 school year to 9.6 percent during the 2015-16 school year, according to the State Department of Education.
That means over 10,000 more students are attending school on a daily basis compared with four years ago.
