Convicted killer, Bridgeport man, serving 80-year sentence gets new trial

BRIDGEPORT — A Bridgeport man currently serving an 80-year prison sentence for the murder of a woman and shooting his girlfriend and her daughter a decade ago has been granted a new trial. The Connecticut Post reports the state Appellate Court ruled on Monday that the jury that convicted Durante Best should’ve been instructed to consider a defense of self-defense in his case.
