Contractor Arrested In Check Cashing Scheme

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) – A Connecticut contractor has been charged with theft after police say he cashed checks written in the name of a dead man.
The Stamford Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/2yk60dl ) police were alerted after the brother of 62-year-old John Shugure noticed suspicious withdrawalsfrom Shugure’s checking account after his death in July 2016.
