Affordability Of Connecticut Transportation Plan Questioned

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Connecticut’s lingering budget problems are prompting some people to question whether the state can afford Gov. Dannel P. Malloy proposed 20-year, $100 billion transportation improvement plan.
Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers have suggested scaling back the massive initiative to fix roads, bridges and rail lines.
They’ve pointed to Malloy’s recent mid-year budget cuts to hospitals and human service programs.
