Write-in who debated Ginther and Scott has criminal record

The man who appeared in a hard hat and demanded a spot on a mayoral debate stage on Wednesday has been convicted of drug trafficking, indicted for murder and has served prison time in Ohio and Oklahoma. A man calling himself Emmanuel Golden Valentine participated in the debate on Wednesday evening along with Democrats Andrew J. Ginther and Zach Scott at the Northland Performing Arts Center. He told organizers he is a write-in candidate and they allowed him to take the stage.
