Winning pumpkin in Circleville tops 1,500 pounds

CIRCLEVILLE — A 1553.5-pound pumpkin was crowned the grand champion at this year's Circleville Pumpkin Show, kicking off the 110th annual four-day festival. The grower of the massive pumpkin, Cecil Weston, of Washington Township outside of Circleville, has participated in five pumpkin weigh-ins, and said there's no greater pastime.
