West Liberty school shooting suspect pleads guilty

The teen accused of shooting two students at West Liberty-Salem High School last year has changed his plea.The Champaign County Prosecutor’s Office said Ely Serna withdrew his not guilty pleas and entered guilty pleas to attempted murder, felonious assault and inducing panic.According to the prosecutor’s office, Serna could receive a prison sentence of up to 23 and a half years.A sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 2.
