Violet Township puts road levy on March ballot

More roads in Fairfield County’s growing Violet Township could be repaved with hot-mix asphalt rather than the rougher chip-and-seal method if voters approve a new property tax for road maintenance, township officials say. Issue 3 on the March 15 ballot would raise about $770,000 annually for road maintenance, including resurfacing, plowing snow, filling potholes and sealing cracks.
