Victim id'd in deadly east Columbus motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist was killed early Monday morning after the driver was ejected and hit a bridge pillar.The incident occurred just before 2;30 a.m. Monday on East 5th Avenue at Leonard Avenue.According to Columbus police, 38-year-old Thomas Hess Jr. of Columbus was driving his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on East 5th Avenue when he lost control and was ejected.Hess struck a bridge pillar and was taken to Grant Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.He was not wearing a helmet at th
