Truck does major damage to bridge over Rt. 104 on South Side

A truck slammed into a South Side bridge at the start of rush hour today, snapping a 6-ton beam overhead and snarling traffic for hours. The truck was eastbound on Rt. 104 just after 4 p.m. when a raised part on the vehicle struck the bottom of the bridge that carries S. High Street traffic over the highway.
