Train derails in Scioto County; U.S. 23 closed as precaution

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio – Several train cars have derailed in Scioto County Thursday afternoon.The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the train derailed around 4:50 p.m. near Fairground Road along U.S. 23 just north of Lucasville.The Scioto County Emergency Management Agency said the train is from Norfolk Southern Railway.Norfolk Southern Corporation said the train was traveling east to Linwood, North Carolina. when it derailed near Waverly.
