Tiberi might challenge Sherrod Brown for U.S. Senate in 2018

WASHINGTON — One of the state’s longest-serving Republican U.S. House members is strongly considering a bid for the Senate in 2018. Rep. Pat Tiberi, R-Genoa Township, insists he is very much focused on his own re-election in the central Ohio congressional district he has represented since 2000, but behind the scenes, multiple GOP sources say he is talking to Republicans across the state about a potential challenge to two-term Sen. Sherrod Brown.
