Thousands of AEP customers waking up without power Wednesday morning

More than 2,000 AEP customers are in the dark Wednesday morning, most of them east of Columbus.According to AEP's outage map, customers from Newark south to Athens are without power. AEP's website says a tree knocked out the power.AEP has not said if strong wind gusts knocked over that tree. A wind advisory was issued in the area from Tuesday afternoon until 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.AEP estimates the power should be restored by 10 a.m.
