Americans may say they support high-quality early childhood education, but that sentiment isn't showing up in the pay of child care workers.Almost half of these workers receive some form of public support, such as food stamps, because their pay is on par with what fast-food workers receive, according to a new report from the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment at the University of California, Berkeley.
