Temperature of 83 degrees ties record high for today's date

The recent run of summer-like weather tied a 78-year record for a high temperature for today's date. The thermometer hit 83 degrees at 1:42 p.m. at John Glenn Columbus International Airport. That matched the 83-degree reading recorded in 1938 for Oct. 18.
