Taylor’s ex-aide made campaign calls, meetings on state-paid time
The former top aide to Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor worked on the 2014 re-election campaign of Gov. John Kasich and Taylor on state time, pocketing her paycheck while participating in partisan politics, The Dispatch has determined. Laura Johnson, Taylor’s chief of staff for 3 1/2 years until she resigned under pressure in mid-2014, made more than 150 phone calls to top Kasich-Taylor campaign officials while her timesheets showed she was on the state clock.
