Suspect in check thefts from mailboxes turns himself in

Thieves have been stealing outgoing checks from mailboxes in three central Ohio counties, then altering or otherwise using them in an elaborate scam that has netted more than $100,000, police say. Columbus police say they aren't sure how many people are behind the enterprise, but they have charged one man so far, who turned himself in Tuesday night.
