Strickland says his opponent is Portman, still won't debate Sittenfeld

To Ted Strickland, P.G. Sittenfeld is not the opponent. He doesn’t even merit an asterisk. As he discussed health care and abortion rights with a group of women in Columbus on Friday, Strickland proclaimed, “I am running against Mr. Rob Portman.” In 30 minutes of remarks, Strickland never once mentioned Sittenfeld, the upstart Cincinnati City Council member seeking to topple the well-known, party-backed former governor in the Democratic primary on March 15.
