Statehouse hours cut, power to waive event fee restricted

It seemed like a minor item on the agenda of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board this week. But the upshot to the little-noticed rule change is that only Republican leaders who control the legislature now can decide who gets to appear in the Statehouse at no charge. Before, leaders of the Democratic minority also could waive the fee.
