State school board rebuffs call for probe of charter data
Majority Republicans on the Ohio Board of Education rejected calls on Tuesday for an independent investigation into the illegal manipulation of charter-school evaluations to make some sponsors look better. The 11-7 vote came after Tess Elshoff, an appointee of Gov. John Kasich, moved to table and cut off debate, saying she wanted to hold off on deciding whether an independent probe was necessary.
