Some fume over HUD’s plan to ban smoking

The federal government wants to ban smoking in all of its public-housing units, including those in Columbus, a notion that has upset many local residents and some officials, too. “Typical Washington overreach,” said Bryan Brown, chief operating officer of the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority. Brown said he fears that some people who desperately need housing will be forced out.
