Some dogs quarantined after distemper case at Franklin County shelter

The Franklin County dog shelter is putting some animals under quarantine after a dog there was diagnosed with distemper. The shelter has tested three dogs, but only one case so far has been confirmed. The highly contagious airborne virus affects dogs’ respiratory tracts, spinal cords and brains, according to a news release from the shelter. It does not affect humans.
