Senate must fix the fix for problem business tax
Turns out a simple fix to an unintended business tax increase isn’t so simple. Ohio Senate leaders were hoping to vote today on a bill that fixes an error in a business tax deduction passed in June as part of the two-year budget. The intention was for a 75 percent income tax deduction on up to $250,000 in pass-through business income, and then a reduced 3 percent tax rate on income over $250,000.
