Senate expected to vote on bill defunding Planned Parenthood

Ohio’s bill to defund Planned Parenthood is expected to get a vote in the Senate today after more than 20 individuals from across the state provided testimony both for and against the bill. If it becomes law, the bill would redirect state and federal funds away from organizations that perform or promote abortions in the state, namely Planned Parenthood. In the last fiscal year, the state allotted $3.7 million to Planned Parenthood, including Medicaid reimbursements.
