Semi hits cows that took off from Union County farm

Crews in Union County were trying to round up nearly 20 cows that got loose from a nearby farm.The cows got loose sometime before 4:00 a.m. Wednesday.The Union County Sheriff's Office said a few of the cows were hit by a tractor trailer along Route 347, west of Route 31. Those cows died.The westbound lanes of Rt. 347 were blocked while crews worked to clean up the scene.It's still unclear how the cows got free.
