Ross County man builds dream cabin one log at a time

In 1986, Duane Dickson, then a 37-year-old Kenworth factory worker, bought 118 acres on a mostly wooded hill near his home in Kingston, Ohio, northeast of Chillicothe. He loved the site for its expansive views of Ross County’s rolling landscape and for its great hiking. “I figured I would sell it someday,” said Dickson, now 67 and long retired from the truck manufacturer. “Then I thought I’d just build me a cabin.”
