Pumpkin beer proves popular

Pumpkin creep has craft-beer-makers sweating to meet fall’s demands by brewing pumpkin ales in the heart of summer. Problem is, there aren’t any ripe pumpkins in July. Ohio, the third-largest pumpkin-producing state, doesn’t yield its big orange fruit until September. That raises the question: What’s in those pumpkin beers appearing on store shelves long before then?
