Protests on Public Square heated up this afternoon and police moved in in force to quell skirmishes breaking out between opposing groups. Video posted on social media showed a massive police presence, with officers using bicycles to separate groups of shouting protesters. There were no immediate reports of major violence, although Alex Jones, a radio talk show host and conspiracy theorist, was reportedly punched during a scuffle.
