As a child in a single-parent home on the Near East Side, Katerina "Kat" Harris dreamed of dancing and entertaining others, but didn't know how or have the courage to try. She rarely saw or attended arts events because she was too busy, as the oldest of four, caring for her siblings while their mom worked.
