Police: Rest stop shooter had earlier arrest warrant

Two days before a Columbus man shot a College of Wooster student in Delaware County Sunday, he was charged with assaulting his mother at an apartment he shared with her. Columbus Police charged Shawn A. Johnson, 25, of the 5000 block of Owl Creek Drive near Westerville, with domestic violence and assault after they responded to a fight at the home where police say he ripped a screen, broke through a window and began beating his mother repeatedly in the head.
