Police investigate apparent playground suicide in Whitehall

The death of a man found early Monday at a Whitehall elementary school is being investigated as an apparent suicide, according to a city spokesman. Whitehall police were called to Beechwood Elementary School at 6:44 a.m. Monday on a report of a man hanging from a swing set on a school playground, according to ThisWeek Newspapers. Whitehall Police Chief Mark Newcomb said the 55-year-old man from Reynoldsburg was pronounced dead at 6:55 a.m., adding that there were no signs of foul play.
