Police identify man who drowned at Griggs Reservoir

Police have identified the man who drowned in the Scioto River Monday night. Police say Jose de Jesus Clemente Cruz, 23, reportedly trying to swim in the river near Fishinger Road just west of Upper Arlington. Columbus police were called to the river at Griggs Reservoir shortly after 6:19 p.m. They said Clemente Cruz had waded into the river and gone underwater after stepping from a shallow area of the river into deeper water.
