Police identify man found fatally shot on North Side

A man found dead behind a North Side home likely was involved in an altercation up the street, where police say he was shot. Columbus police said Brandon Lee Pollard, 21, was pronounced dead just before 2:30 a.m. by medics who responded to the scene in the 2900 block of Howey Road. Police had been called to the area 15 minutes earlier on a report of shots fired. Pollard’s death is the second homicide of the year. His hometown was not released.
