Plan would privatize computer support at Franklin County data center

Some of the Franklin County employees charged with maintaining the county's computer hub don’t have the skills needed to support modern programs. A few specialize in a programming language that originated more than 30 years ago. Now, Auditor Clarence Mingo wants to replace them with a contractor who could support the data center 24 hours a day for a fraction of the cost it would take to pay and train existing workers.
