Pedestrian struck by vehicle in west Columbus

The Columbus Division of Police closed a portion of Sullivant Avenue after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.According to police, the incident happened just before 7 a.m. near the intersection of S. Highland Avenue and Sullivant Avenue.Todd Thornhill and Sarah Pearson were walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle traveling eastbound crossed into the westbound lanes on Sullivant Avenue and jumped over the curb.Thornhill pushed Pearson out of the way before the vehicle struck him and a utility pole.
