Outdoor notebook | Otter, beaver seasons get underway in Ohio

Two top-tier furbearers become legal the day after Christmas. Otters and beavers on Saturday join fox, raccoon, skunk, opossum, weasel, mink and muskrat, legal since Nov. 10, as targets of trappers. Beaver can be trapped statewide in unlimited numbers, the same as the rest of the furbearing menagerie save for the otter.
