Ohioans without health insurance falls to 8.7%
Ohio’s uninsured rate has plunged by half in recent years to 8.7 percent, but it could be even lower. Two-thirds of non-elderly Ohioans without health coverage — about 567,000 residents — are either eligible for Medicaid at no cost or qualify for tax credits to help pay for private coverage through the Affordable Care Act.
