How far will some salamanders travel to find a mate? To find out, Rob Denton put a few of them on a tiny treadmill and counted the miles. “It’s the most excruciatingly boring experiment to do,” said Denton, a research fellow in evolution, ecology and organismal biology at Ohio State University. “The cuteness wears off.”
