Ohio State issues neighborhood safety alert after student was robbed at gunpoint

COLUMBUS-- Students at Ohio State were put on alert Friday night when a student was robbed at gunpoint.According to Columbus police, the armed robbery happened off-campus in the area of Pearl Street and Chittenden Avenue around 8 p.m.Police said an unknown man approached a male Ohio State student, displayed a silver handgun and stole a backpack and phone before fleeing the scene.The student ran to a nearby parking garage to notify law enforcement.
