Ohio State astronomers study what could be largest supernova ever seen

Ohio State University astronomers say they might have discovered the largest supernova ever seen from Earth. If they are correct, the hot ball of gas they see was produced by a supernova unlike any seen before. The ball of gas radiates the energy of hundreds of billions of suns. Their findings are published this week in the journal Science.
