Ohio House bill would cut benefit to unemployed seniors

Thousands of elderly and disabled Ohioans no longer would qualify for unemployment benefits under legislation being considered by the Ohio House. An offset in House Bill 394, a sweeping overhaul of the state’s unemployment compensation system, would subtract Social Security income from jobless benefits, often reducing unemployment cash to nothing.
