Ohio GOP lawmakers propose smaller gas tax increase

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A substitute bill regarding the proposed gas tax was read at the Ohio House Finance Committee hearing Tuesday night.The bill by GOP lawmakers has a proposed increase of 10.7 cents per gallon and 20 cents per gallon for diesel.The gas tax would be implanted in phases – by five cents on October 1, 2019, by three cents in 2020 and 2.7 cents in 2021.The diesel fuel plan would be phased in by 10 cents, six cents, and four cents.The proposed bill also adds an additional $2
