Ohio facing a clean water crisis

When it comes to water, we are a people accustomed to instant gratification: Twist a knob or turn on a faucet and — just like that — clean water appears. We think about how our water gets to us only when the system breaks down and tap water becomes suspect — as it did this year when nitrates contaminated part of Columbus’ water supply, or this past summer and last winter when the water tasted like it came from a garden hose.
