Officials confirm pertussis at Pickerington North High School

Ten cases of pertussis, more commonly known as whooping cough, have been confirmed at Pickerington North High School since early September, officials at Franklin County Public Health said on Tuesday. Pickerington is the only district in central Ohio currently known to have an outbreak of the contagious bacterial illness, but 10 cases is “typical for us at this time of year,” said epidemiologist Radhika Iyer.
